Tourism in Nowa Huta

TOURISM in NOWA HUTA (Turystyczna Nowa Huta) – a programme of workshops for tour guides, travel centres and hotel industry workers, commisioned by The Tourism Office of the Municipality of Krakow (Biuro Turystyki Urzędu Miasta Krakowa).

We organize special tours to the most interesting places of the "old" Nowa Huta, particulary: Centralny Square, Aleja Róż Street, Administrative Centre of T. Sendzimir Steelworks. Recommend the meetings in the special places of Nowa Huta: Museum of History of the City of Krakow, Department "History of Nowa Huta" ,Jan Matejko's House, "1949 Club", "Łaźnia Nowa" Theatre, etc.

The C. K. Norwid Culture Center wishes also to invite you to the screening of "From the history of Nowa Huta" - a documentary directed by Jerzy Ridan. The film will take you on a fascinating journey into history of this communist-designed "perfect industrial city". It depicts all historical milestones: the erection of Nowa Huta, streetfights for The Cross in 1960, building of "Lord's Arc" church, Solidarity movement, the collapse of communism as well as profiles of renowned city's creators. A compelling selection of archive footage is interwoven with contemporary clips extracted from "Nowa Huta Newsreel" a television programme exclusively produced by The C. K. Norwid Culture Center.
